Launched in 2009, the International Ambassadors Program (IAP) supports a global network of healthcare professionals dedicated to infection prevention and healthcare epidemiology. The program fosters collaboration between U.S. and international experts, helping strengthen infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship worldwide.
Since its inception, SHEA has welcomed over 200 Ambassadors from 60 countries, building lasting partnerships and advancing best practices across continents. Ambassadors have led training courses, educational meetings, and collaborative research that continue to impact infection prevention and control globally.
Ambassadors also gain access to cutting-edge science, professional development opportunities, and connections with leaders and partners shaping the future of healthcare epidemiology.
