Training Courses

The Training Courses will utilize a “flipped classroom” approach that will allow you to attend other Full Conference Sessions and engage with colleagues and faculty outside of the Training Courses. What this means to you is that you will need to invest time in advance of the meeting—a couple of hours—to review the pre-program on-demand videos that will prepare you to engage at the live sessions.

Note:  The information in the pre-program on-demand sessions will not be provided via didactic lecture during the in-person training course; therefore, your completion of these pre-program on-demand sessions will be an important part of your success at the training courses—providing you an introduction and overview to the key concepts of the content that will form the foundation of our discussion and interaction together.

Here is the list of the Pre-work videos that should be watched before arriving in Chicago:

Healthcare Epidemiology Training Course

  • Overview of resources available for those new to Healthcare Epidemiology – 30 minutes

SHEA Antibiotic Stewardship Training Course

  • Pitching Antimicrobial Stewardship to the C-Suite – 30 minutes
  • Micro 101 for the Antimicrobial Steward – 30 minutes
  • Metrics 101: What to Measure and How to Measure It – 30 minutes
  • How to Design Stewardship Interventions and Publish Your Results – 30 minutes

The training courses will run concurrently with the entire SHEA Spring 2026 Program, specifically April 7-10. Pre-work will be available in March 2026. An email will be sent to registrants on March 24.

To view speakers and objectives for these pre-work sessions, as well as the rest of the program, please visit the Online Program.

Please note: you are only able to receive one (1) certificate of completion for one training course. You cannot complete both.
